Christmas Special - Bringing Books, Joy & Hope to Oakland Students

All Hands & Hearts (AH&H) is proud to support the “Christmas with the Currys” Holiday Book Fair, bringing books, joy, and connection to more than 18,000 Oakland students across 49 public schools.

This effort helps ensure every child can experience the gift of reading and hope during a difficult holiday season, while strengthening AH&H’s commitment to youth resilience, education, and community recovery in the Bay Area.

This initiative transforms school campuses into vibrant book fairs where every student chooses free books to take home. Fairs feature festive activities, music, community connection, and a sense of dignity and celebration during a season that can be especially challenging for families.

AH&H volunteers will be on the ground throughout the events, supporting book fair set-up, student engagement, and event logistics to help create a warm, welcoming, and memorable experience for every child.
