Devastating Earthquake Strikes Myanmar and Thailand | All Hands and Hearts
by All Hands and Hearts Smart ResponseA powerful 7.7 magnitude struck Myanmar on Friday, March 28, with tremors felt in Bangkok, Thailand, 1400km away. At least three fatalities have been confirmed in Myanmar and at least one fatality in Thailand, as well as an unknown number of people still trapped in a high-rise building in Bangkok that collapsed. Myanmar has declared a state of emergency and Thailand has declared multiple “Areas of Emergency”.
Reports are still coming in as immediate response efforts continue, but early assessments indicate collapsed buildings, damage to major infrastructure and significant humanitarian needs.
