Since its inception in 2001, the annual Alfred Dunhill Links Championship has raised significant funds for a variety of worthy causes. Charity has always been an important element of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Since its inception, significant funds have been raised.
Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation is the recipient of charitable funds raised by the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and it distributes those funds through grants to selected charities and other benevolent organisations and in doing so supports many good causes.
Funds gathered by the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation are allocated to local and international charities and other benevolent organisations selected by the Trustees.
The Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation is responsible for the management and distribution of funds to a variety of charities and benevolent organisations that carry out worthy causes both within Scotland and further afield.
While the Trustees consider all applications from charitable and benevolent organisations for financial support, the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation focuses on the following causes, which have been closely associated with the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and the community of St Andrews.
These include:
The development of amateur golf in Scotland and in South Africa;
The preservation of the historic town of St Andrews;
The support of the University of St Andrews; and
The support of charities with a link to St Andrews.
In addition to raising funds via the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the Alfred Dunhill Links Foundation also accepts donations from individuals and companies.
