The object of the Company (World Relief Australia) is to express its Christian faith, identity and values by providing humanitarian aid and community development initiatives principally in developing countries certified as such by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, which will result in the relief of poverty, suffering, distress and misfortune of needy persons regardless of age, sex, race, ethnic background, religion, political beliefs or marital status, and in furtherance of this purpose: a. to assist by all means available by the provision of general basic support of people in emergency situations through natural phenomenon such as an earthquake or a chronic disaster such as famine or conflict; b. to provide assistance through development projects which benefit communities as a whole incorporating indigenous partnerships; c. to form alliances and partnerships with like minded organisations in Australia and overseas to be able to respond to disaster emergencies anywhere in the world; d. to support and work towards the holistic development of people in developing countries and to provide opportunities for linkages between such individuals and the Australian community; e. to initiate and participate in development projects which focus on health and nutrition, rural development, agriculture, education and small business enterprise; f. to encourage donors and supporters to influence and participate in the various projects and activities of the Company designed to further its Object; and g. to do such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of this Object.
