All Hands and Hearts is mobilizing in response to Hurricane Erick. Now a Category 4 storm with sustained winds of 145 mph (230 km/h), Erick is barreling toward Mexico’s southern Pacific coast, with the potential for catastrophic winds, life-threatening flooding, and dangerous mudslides.
We are currently active in Santa Ana Necoxtla, Epatlán (Puebla), and Puerto Escondido (Oaxaca), and our team has been closely monitoring the storm. Due to the projected path and intensity, our Puerto Escondido team made the decision yesterday to evacuate inland to Oaxaca City. All work sites have been secured, and operations are temporarily paused until it is safe to resume. The safety of our staff and partners remains our top priority.
